Buffalo, Centerville One Act Plays advance

Four schools participated in the One Act Play zone competition on Monday afternoon at Rudder High School in Bryan. Buffalo High and Centerville High will be adby vancing to the District competition.
Buffalo's troope, directed by Jill Henson, performed scenes from the drama "Dark of the Moon". Several BHS performers and cast members received special recognition at Zone. Topping the list, Meredith Shaw was selected Best Actress. TiOnna Adams, Sara Wheary, Jesse Champion, and Martha Zimmerman made the All-Star Cast, and Kelsey Fahler, Michael Morelock and Jacob Rodell were all named to the Honorable Mention All-Star Cast.
The One Act Play crew finally rolled into the school parking lot late on Monday evening, exhausted by exhuberant. "There are different challenges in doing a drama compared to a comedy," Mrs. Henson shared, "but I think they did a great job." The judge gave them plenty to work on in a long critique and the cast and crew will take that into consideration as they prepare for the next competition, coming up in a week.
Centerville's thespians, under the direction of Nikki Erickson performed scenes from "Up". CHS' Jose Mora and Chelsea Murphy Reynolds also made the All-Star Cast. Trisha Martin, Jessica Nichols and David Roach received Honorable Mention.
The District contest will be next Monday at Huntsville High School. (Break a leg, guys!)
