Womens’ results

Hilltop WGA (Women’s Golf Association) had their weekly playday on March 11th. Fourteen ladies participated in the 18-hole group and eight ladies in the 9-hole group. They had perfect weather for the game-of-theday, "Low Gross".

18-hole members "Low Gross, Flighted" top scores were: First Flight - First place went to Leonor Holland with 82. Second place went to Shirley Schiamara with 91. In the Second Flight, first place went to Nancy Murphy with 102. Nancy Keown tied with 102 and after a scorecard playoff, took second place. The Third Flight saw Ginger O'Brian earn first place, Faye Weller took second and Ella Bishir took third. Low Putts went to Leonor Holland with 29 putts. Birdies were made by Shirley Schiamara on #13 and Nancy Keown on #3. Closest-to-the-pin honors went to Nancy Keown on #3, Helen Prejean on #10 and Debbie Miller on #15.

In the 9-hole members "Low Gross" game, Betty Van Beiberstein took 1st place, Billie Tatom 2nd, Ann Rigsby came in 3rd place, and JoAnn Henry took 4th. In the competition for Low Putts first place went to Billy Tatom and second place went to Ann Rigsby. Pars - Dorothy Green.

The next playday is scheduled for March 18 and the Game of the Day will be "ACES (Low Net)"

WGA will hold its first 2010 meeting at 8:30 a.m. ACES will follow the meeting. Please sign up by noon on Wednesday. Tee-time will be 9 a.m.

Hilltop WGA will hold the first inter-club tournament for 2010 on March 25. The sign-up sheet is in the ladies locker room on the bulletin board. Please sign up for this fun event.

Men’s results

The men played Two Best Balls of Four-Man Team. The First Flight winning team, with a score of 125, was the foursome comprised of Bob Tibbits, Dennis Pruitt, John Golden, and Larry White. Second place, with a score of 126, was the team of Gary O'Neal, D.R. Lewis, Wayne Brougher, and Terry Edwards. Third place (score of 132) went to Joe Oden, Bob Beevers, Byron Hudgens, and Bill Fathke.

In the Second Flight, First Place (score of 121) went to Don Weldon, Terry Hinton, Jim Ramsey, and Vic Schwartz. Second Place (score of 125) went to David Lott, Vernon Von Bieberstein, Wallace Holland and Leroy Carey. In third Place (score of 130) was the team of Rick Shuff, Charles Herrin, Billy Owens and Richard Ellis.

Par Three Closest-to-Pin winners were: #3 D.R. Lewis, #7 D.R. Lewis, #10 Don Peloquin, and # 15 Vernon Von Bieberstein.
