Morris pitches perfect game in Groveton
      Junior pitcher Rachel Morris rebounded from a 5-7 loss to Centerville earlier in the week to pitch a perfect game on Friday in Groveton. The Lady Bison defeated the Lady Indians 15-0 in three innings. Morris threw only 31 pitches in the effort.

Buffalo cages Centerville Tigers
      The BHS baseball team posted two wins last week, starting with cross-county rivals, the Centerville Tigers on Wednesday in a district game that had it all: lead changes, big plays, lots of action and a come-from-behind victory for the home team.

Bison powerlifters finish strong at Regionals
      Two BHS athletes competed at the Regional Powerlifting Meet in in Rusk on Saturday, and both freshmen posted their top totals of the season. Jose Dominguez took fifth in the 181 lb weight class with a three-lift total of 1190 lbs. Tate Hartley, competing at 132 lbs, turned in a threelift total of 870 lbs to take 6th place in his division.

Junior High track season opens with Bremond meet
      The Junior High track teams entered their first meets last week in Bremond and both the seventh and eighth grade boys teams from Buffalo took first place honors. The junior high teams competed in Leon on Friday, March 12, and results will be reported as soon as they are available.

Buffalo’s Canady invited to play in Texas Roundup All-Star Game
      Bison senior basketball standout Jordan Canady has been selected as one of the top basketball players in Texas. He has been invited to participate in the 11th Texas Roundup All-Star game to be held on March 20th in Maypearl, Texas. The Texas Roundup, considered one of the state’s most prestigious events, selects the state’s top 24 boys and 24 girls from Clas 1A, 2A and 3A schools.

Hilltop Lakes Golf News
      Womens’ results Hilltop WGA (Women’s Golf Association) had their weekly playday on March 11th. Fourteen ladies participated in the 18-hole group and eight ladies in the 9-hole group. They had perfect weather for the game-of-theday, "Low Gross".

Centerville Tigers gather All-District Awards
      The Centerville Tigers gathered several awards as the All- District basketball teams were announced. Clay Hardee was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Jonathan Cloud and Michael Gwosdz were picked on the 1st Team All-District, Jamal High earned a spot on the 2nd Team All-District, and Jeremy Hammock and Ryan Payne earned Honorable Mention.

Centerville Lady Tigers remain unbeaten in district softball action
      The Centerville Lady Tigers remained unbeaten with a 5-2 victory against Onalaska on March 12th to run their district record to 3-0. The Tigers scored 2 in the first and tallied 3 in the fourth innings to secure the victory. Jessie Long pitched a complete game allowing only 2 runs in the fourth inning.
