BHS’ UIL Cross-Ex team to debate at state level

BHS seniors Morgan Anderson and Meredith Shaw will compete in the UIL State Cross-Examination competition in Austin March 15-16.

The entire Buffalo crossexamination team attended two invitationals prior to district. Anderson and Shaw qualified for State at the district competition on February 11 in Trinity where they took second place behind a team from Centerville.

It is Anderson’s first year in Cross-Ex and Shaw’s second. Shaw shared, “We make a great team--sometimes we know exactly what the other will say before she says it, which is a big help in a fastpaced speaking contest like CX.”

The teams were coached and directed by Mrs. Melonie Menefee. This was Menefee’s fourth year to coach cross-ex debate.
