Ladies News

The 2010 Hilltop WGA season is back in full swing. On March 4, 26 ladies participated in the first game of the year. The game of the day was "Scramble", followed by homemade chili lunch. It was a beautiful day for golf and everyone had a great time.

The First Place foursome was comprised of Debbie Miller, Jo Ann Pool, Betty Von Bieberstein and Helen Prejean.

The Second place team was made up of Marcia Rector, Nancy Keown, Paula Christensen, and Paula Chicken. Third Place honors went to Leonor Holland, Lorraine Guilford, and Garlyn Person. The Fourth Place team was Shirley Schiamara, Ella Bishir, and Karen Lautenschlager.

March 11 is our next Play Day and the Game of the Day for the 18-hole gals and the 9-hole gals will be Low Gross.

Please sign up by noon on Wednesday. Tee-time will be 9:00 a.m.

Hilltop WGA will hold the first inter-club tournament for 2010 on March 25. The sign-up sheet is on the ladies locker room bulletin board. Please sign up for this fun event.

Men’s results

The men competed in a Four-Man Scramble. The First Place Team, with a score of 65, was made up of Greg Waller, Hugh Rigsby, Ben Murphy, and Larry Tate. In second place (with a 65) was the team of Randy Schiamara, Jim Miller, Bill Fathke, and Joe Booker. Third (scoring 67) went to Gary O'Neal, Doug Field, Wayne Brougher, and Vic Schwartz. The fourth place team (67) was Don Weldon, Jim Ramsey, Jim Thornton, and T.J. Mitchell. Fifth (score of 68) was the foursome of Bob Tibbits, Terry Hinton, Mark Perkins, and David Ball.

Closest-to-the-Pin Winners on the Par Threes were: #3 - Greg Waller, #7 - Bob Beevers, #10 - Joe Oden, and #15 - Terry Edwards.
