Lady Cougars represent Leon County in Final Four at State basketball tourney
      For the first time in their 50-year history the Lady Cougars basketball team advanced to the state semi-fi- nals in Austin. Unfortunately the Cougars tangled with the defending 2A State Champion Brock Lady Eagles in the semis.

Bison drop district opener against New Waverly
      After a rain-out on Monday, the young Bison baseball team hosted New Waverly in the district opener at Bison Field on Thursday afternoon. With basketball season over, Buffalo had picked up several players but the senior-loaded Bulldogs still managed to dominate the game, capitalizing on home runs early in the game.

Lady Bison finish fourth
      The Lady Bison track team competed in the Bremond track meet last Thursday and finished fourth overall in the team standings. Coach Daryl Skelton’s crew worked on improving times and distances in the individual and team events.

Lady Bison selected to All-District teams
      The Lady Bison basketball team was well respected by district coaches when they selected members of the 2010 All District Team. Buffalo, which tied for second place in District 21AA, scored a superlative honor as well as two other members to the first team. The Lady Bison also garnered three slots for the second team and several honorable mentions.

Bison go 1-2 in tournament play at Leon
      The young Bison baseball team showed good promise when they competed at the Leon Tournament last weekend. BHS came away with a win and two losses. Game One pitted the Bison against Marlin, and Ty Tollett pitched a 5-inning no hitter. The freshman threw ten strikeouts and two walks, and BHS came out on top 12-1.

Centerville Tigers fall in Regional Quarter-Finals
      The Tigers defeated Houston YES 62-51 on February 26th but fell to Anahuac 48-39 in Tomball in the regional quarter-finals on March 1st to close out their very successful season with a 27-7 mark.

      Ladies News The 2010 Hilltop WGA season is back in full swing. On March 4, 26 ladies participated in the first game of the year. The game of the day was "Scramble", followed by homemade chili lunch. It was a beautiful day for golf and everyone had a great time.
