Bernice L. Keith

Funeral services for Bernice L. Keith, age 88, of the Evans Chapel Community were held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Flynn First Baptist Church. Bro. Ross Newton officiated the service and interment followed in the Evans Chapel Cemetery.

Bernice L. Keith was born August 27, 1921 in Cornish, Oklahoma. Her parents were Jefferson Barton and Bessie Mae (Moon) Glenn. She and Roy Robert Keith, Jr. were married in Normangee on August 22, 1945 and Bernice lived the rest of her life in Leon County, Texas. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Bernice retired after working twelve years at the Madisonville Dairy Queen. She also sewed and crocheted in her younger years. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roy, who died in November of 1991; an infant daughter, Katherine and four siblings. Bernice passed away in a Madisonville nursing home on Friday, March 5, 2010.

Surviving family includes three sons, Roy Robert Keith III of San Antonio, David Neal Keith and wife, Bonnie, of Normangee and Larry Wayne Keith of the Evans Chapel Community; five grandchildren, Brad, Tisha and Bridgett Keith, Stacy Keith and wife, Delise and Kim Brown and husband, Lance and 17 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Embry, Doug Franks, Wallace Duncan, Buren Noey, Dawane Martin and Harold Brooks.
