Pat a cake, pat a cake, baker’s man...

Decisions, decisions: Tiger Cub Isaac Smith is deep in thought...how should he decorate this cake? Photo by Melissa Missildine Oakwood Cub Scout Pack 610 took a field trip to the Brookshire's bakery in Palestine to learn how to decorate birthday cakes. Each Scout got to decorate a cake in honor of the 100th birthday of the Boy Scouts of America. These cakes will be used as table decorations and then as dessert at the Blue & Gold Banquet on Monday night. Bakery manager, Mary, showed the Scouts the proper way to decorate the cakes, and then let them loose. Yummy, sticky, chaos ensued. In the end, the cakes were decorated. (So were the boys, the table, and the floor.) We'll have to let you know how they taste... if we all survive the sugar coma from all the butter cream frosting!
