Flo Water Board Election slated for March 27th
      Flo Community Water Supply Corporation will hold its Annual Members Meeting and Board of Directors Election on March 27, 2010. Two directors’ positions, presently held by Ken Jones and Richard Blanchard will be decided by the election. Blanchard and Ken Jones are not seeking re-election. Two nominations for the positions were filed prior to the February 23rd deadline.

Buffalo EE Club meets at Stagecoach Deli
      The Buffalo EE Club met 11:30 am, Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Stagecoach Deli Restaurant. The meeting was called to order by President Leslie Maciel with 12 members and four guests in attendance. The Buffalo club was honored with four new members (Marilyn Brown, Linda Woodson, Pat Lacasse and Janice Pomeroy).

Pat a cake, pat a cake, baker’s man...
      Oakwood Cub Scout Pack 610 took a field trip to the Brookshire's bakery in Palestine to learn how to decorate birthday cakes. Each Scout got to decorate a cake in honor of the 100th birthday of the Boy Scouts of America. These cakes will be used as table decorations and then as dessert at the Blue & Gold Banquet on Monday night.

      Leon County Clerk Carla Neyland McEachern is a home grown Leon County gal who grew up in Old Bowling and graduated from Leon High School. After attending Sam Houston University in Huntsville she graduated from Brayer Business College. She married James Robert McEachern in 1988 and shortly thereafter went to work as a deputy clerk for the county.
