Buffalo man injured in snow-related traffic accident

Tuesday morning’s snowstorm proved disasterous for at Buffalo man. Bennie Chesney, age 55, was northbound on Hwy 79 near Oakwood at 9:37 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle as he rounded a curve on the crest of a hill. The 2003 white Ford F-150 pickup truck drove into the east barditch and rolled, struck a tree and came to rest facing west with Chesney trapped inside. Volunteer Fire Department crew were called to free him, and he was taken to Palestine Regional Hospital with incapacitating injuries.

Trooper Derrick Seymore attributed the accident to speed unsafe for the conditions, which included snow and icy/wet road surface.
