Another elderly woman attacked and robbed in McLennan County

An eighty-four-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed in her home in Moody on Monday morning. Although there are similarities to attacks by the serial rapist, known as the Twilight Rapist, authorities would not confirm or deny any connection.

The extent of the wom- an’s injuries was not revealed but authorities say she was hospitalized and is expected to recover. Investigators are careful not to connect this to the serial rapist but are waiting for DNA confirmation.

If the Twilight Rapist is responsible for this attack it will be the first in McLennan County. Other known assaults have taken place in Lavaca, Leon, Bell and Falls Counties. There have been three attacks in Leon County; two in Marquez and one in Centerville.

The series of sexual assaults and robberies began in January 2009 in the city of Yoakum in Lavaca County. Since that time the Twilight Rapist has been linked to twelve sexual assaults, attempted sexual assaults, burglaries and attempted burglaries. The victims have been women who range in age from 65 to 92 years old.

The suspect is described as a thin, young and darkskinned man between 5’6” and 6 feet tall.
