Freestone County Sheriff’s Report
by Sheriff Ralph Billings
Ralph Billings
911 report advises of
house on fire behind Oakwood
VFD, Leon County
contacted so they can page
out Fire Chief Nathan
Smith and his guys. Hey,
right here, let me tell you,
those guys with Oakwood
VFD are on the ball…..We
never call that they’re not
willing to turn out at the
drop of a hat. Of course,
every Fire Department in
our County does exactly
the same and we appreciate
them all. Remember, they
are all volunteers, no salary,
lots of lost sleep, disrupted
sleep patterns, etc. Never
enough credit is given to
our Volunteer Firemen for
this or our adjoining counties.
When you see them, tell
them thanks, buy their dinner.
