     The American Legion Post #335 will hold our monthly meeting on Saturday March 6th at 6pm. Our meeting is held at the Centerville municipal building located across from the Post Office. We would like to invite all veterans and their spouses to attend. We will be serving sandwiches, dips & chips and desserts.

DRT honors Texas Statehood Day
      The Fort Boggy Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas honors February 19, 1846 as Texas Statehood Day. The legal entry of Texas into the Union was 29 December 1845, but the decade-old Republic of Texas did not formally transservice. fer its authority to the new State of Texas until 19 February 1846.

VVA to meet in Palestine
      The Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) and the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America (AVVA) Palestine Chapter 991 will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 9th at 7:00 pm for the VVA, the associates meet one hour earlier at 6:pm at the Disabled American Veterans Hall, located at 927 Gardner Drive, Palestine.

      The attendance was back up today as many of our vacationers returned after bad weather interfered with their plans. March 7th will be the finance and council meetings at 5:00 PM. Also on March 7th the week of prayer for the Annie Armstrong Easter offering begins. March 11th the food pantry will be open from 1:00 to 3:30 PM. Call if you will be late.
