Shirley Jean Finke

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Jean Finke, 72, were held on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. Bro. Ray Payne officiated. Interment followed the services at Little Flock Cemetery near Jewett.

Visitation was held on Friday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Finke passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Mrs. Shirley Jean Finke was born in Waller County on March 4, 1937. She grew up in Waller, Texas and graduated from Waller High School. She married her husband of over 54 years, Cecil Finke, on June 18, 1955 and was a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Houston for over 50 years. She was a dedicated homemaker, mom and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil Finke of Houston; sons, Danny Finke and Devin Finke of Houston; grandsons; Devin Troy Finke and Dayne Finke of Houston; brother; Eugene Harris & wife Eileen of San Antonio; sisters; Jeanette Thomas and Yvonne Thomas of Jewett; aunt; Ruby LaBlanc of Orangeville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Ocie Hampton Harris and Florence Evelyn Izard.
