Maxine Gaskin Ray

Funeral services for Rosie Maxine Gaskin Ray age 81, of Buffalo were held 2 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Travis “Bo” Davis officiated the services. Burial was in the Buffalo City Cemetery. Walters Buffalo Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.

Maxine Ray was born on July 23, 1928 in Fairfield, Texas to William and Eula (Lancaster) Thomas. She had lived in Buffalo most of her life. She was a member of the Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a Beautician in her younger life and her husband, Albert was a Barber. She later became the Activity Director for the nursing home in Buffalo. She and her best friend, Johnnie Reeder, loved to travel, eat, fish, and gamble. They had a wonderful time together. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Albert Gaskin and Edwin Ray; and one brother, Billy Ray Thomas. Mrs. Ray passed away Monday morning, February 15, 2010 at her residence in Buffalo.

Survivors include her son, Ray Gaskin of Buffalo, Texas; two granddaughters, Alisa Gaskin of Normangee, Texas, and Heather Black- burn and husband, Randy of The Woodlands, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Melodie Ferguson, Kelsea Ferguson, Dylan Blackburn and Josh Blackburn.

The pallbearers were Boyd Reeder, Mack Reeder, Bob Reeder, Rondal Mullenax, Gondal Mullenax, and John Runnels.
