Catherine Whiteman

Graveside funeral services for Catherine Whiteman, age 83 of Buffalo, Texas were held Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 2 PM at the Oakwood City Cemetery. Jamie Duplishan, pastor of the Oakwood Church Of Christ officiated the service. Walters Buffalo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Catherine Whiteman was born September 29, 1926 in Lyons County, Arkansas to Benjamin L. and Gladys (Hallman) Taylor. She had lived in Arkansas and Oklahoma, but hadlived most of her life in Texas. She was a member of First Christian Church Of Oakwood.

Mrs. Whiteman had a housedog called “Missy” that was her companion in her last years. She loved and enjoyed her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Lee Whiteman; son-in-law, Cecil Bell; her brother, Benjamin Taylor; sisters, Imogene Miller, Josephine Balch, Genevia Shilling; half brothers, Willard Earl Jones, Lewis Jones, Charlie Norvin Jones, and half sister, Charlene Adams. Mrs. Whiteman passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 in Buffalo, Texas.

Surviving family members include her son, Delbert Whiteman and wife, Carolyn, of Terell, Texas; her daughter, Dorothy Bell of Oakwood, Texas; half sister, Louise Brock of Hatfield, Arkansas; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
