BISD calls trustee election for May 8th

BISD School Board Positions 1, 2 and 3 (currently held by Dr. Russell Jonas, Jim Scott and Gene Pruitt, Jr., respectively) are expiring, and the school board has officially called for a Trustee election on Saturday, May 8, 2010, with voting to be held jointly with the City of Buffalo at the Buffalo Civic Center. Monday, March 8 at 5:00 is the deadline to file an application for a place on the ballot. Lisa Hoepken has been selected to serve as Early Voting Clerk and Election Judge, and early voting will be available at the BISD Administration Office (708 Cedar Creek Road) from Monday, April 26 to Tuesday, May 4.

The election may be cancelled on Monday, March 15, 2010 if there are no contested races and the positions are filled unopposed.

Other deadlines that the public should be aware of: Thursday, April 8, 2010 is the last day to register to vote, and Friday, April 30 is the last day to apply for a ballot by mail (date received, not postmarked.)
