The Buffalo men won two games on the road this week to cement their standing as the district’s third place team. CORRIGAN-CAMDEN More ... Bison powerlifters continue to make a good showing in area competitions. Coach Clay Hodges reported that his team took fourth place overall at the Madisonville Varsity Powerlifting Meet, although 2A BHS was the only small school in the meet, competing against 3A and larger schools. More ... As the district basketball season winds down, the junior varsity Bison men logged a win and a loss in two road games last week. VS CORRIGAN-CAMDEN More ... The Lady Mustangs of Slocum came out to meet the Lady Panthers of Oakwood last Tuesday in a game which determined who would be going on to the play-offs. . The teams were well matched and it was a close game all the way to the end. More ... The OHS Panthers had hoped to do well against the number one ranked Slocum Panthers on Tuesday. Instead, they got trampled with an end score of 34-55. Kealyne Durham picked up a couple of foul shots to start things off for the Panthers, but the Mustangs answered quickly and led at the end of the quarter, 6-13. By halftime the Mustangs had pulled farther ahead, 15-27. More ... On February 9th the Lady Cougars traveled to Marlin with the district championship on the line. Each team had 8-1 records and the winner won district and had a week off before the playoffs and the loser has to play on February 16th at Lon Morris College against Arp. The Cougars had defeated Marlin 59-58 at Leon on January 22nd in a classic battle. More ... The Centerville Lady Tigers went out with a bang as they overwhelmed Onalaska 51-4 on February 9th. The Tigers outscored Onalaska 19-0 in the first quarter and 13-2 in the second quarter to lead 32-2 at the half. The second half was more of the same as the Tigers outscored Onalaska 19-2 to finish off a 51-4 win. The Tigers had a season low of only 5 turnovers. More ... The Cougars hosted the Hearne Eagles on February 12th and started slowly in the first quarter falling behind 8-16. The margin grew to 10 at half time as the Eagles led 29-19. The Cougars clawed back in the third quarter and trailed 35-36 at one time before the quarter ended and they trailed by three. More ... |
