Leon Co. Republican Party fundraiser draws a crowd

Ken Keeling Ken Keeling The Republican Party of Leon County held a fundraiser at Dona Chuy’s in Jewett Monday night, February 15. One hundred and sixteen persons attended the dinner and listened to three-minute speeches from Republican hopefuls in both State, district, county and precinct races.

Candidate for State Senate, Ben Bius was present and spoke for his allotted three minutes, and State Senator Steve Ogden’s daughter in law spoke for him. 10th Court of Appeals Judge Felipe Reyna’s son spoke in his behalf.

Candidates for District Court, Ken Keeling and Leslie Harding both were present and spoke as did Marva Beck who is unopposed in the Republican Primary for State Representative but will face Jim Dunham in the General Election.

County Judge Byron Ryder and his opponent Mark Mathews both spoke, followed by Christie Wakefield and Lois Milstead who are both seeking the County Clerk position. Brandi Hill and her opponent for County Treasurer Karen Broach also addressed the crowd of Republican supporters.
