UIL District Realignments Announced

The UIL district realignment announcements were made on Monday morning and, as anticipated, they bring major changes for area schools for the next two years.

In football, in an effort to balance out the competition, Conference 2A has been divided into larger schools (Di- vision 1) and smaller schools (Division 2). Buffalo High School, Centerville High and Leon High School have been assigned to Conference 2A, Division 2, Region 3, District 11, along with Axtell, Blooming Grove, and Italy.

Local districts are split in the basketball realignment. Buffalo and Leon are in Conference 2A, Region 2, District 14, along with Blooming Grove, Mildred, Eustace, Malakoff and Teague. Centerville is in Conference 2A, Region 3, District 23, along with Anderson-Shiro, Crockett, Groveton, New Waverly, Onalaska, and Trinity.
