JV Lady Bison Win and Lose

The Junior Varsity Lady Bison had mixed results last week as they defeated Onalaska on Tuesday, but fell to Centerville on Friday. Bufby falo won 38-10 over the Lady Wildcats, but lost sharpshooter Courtney Cunningham to an ankle injury. On Friday, the Lady Bison fell 26-37 to the Lady Tigers.
Buffalo outscored the Lady Wildcats 12 to 4 in the first quarter. Playing shutout defense in the next two quarters, the Lady Bison built up a 32-4 lead. Both teams chipped in six points in the fourth quarter for the 38-10 final.
Raven Lott led all scorers with 13 points. Ana Lopez and Samantha Atkinson netted six points each for the Lady Bison. Angeles Valles- Villa contributed 5 points. Emily Grissett nailed a 3 while Zelneisha Lockett and Kylen Armstrong each tossed in a bucket. Haley Ellison connected on a free throw.
Free throws kept the Lady Bison in the game the first quarter against Centerville as Lott dropped in 7 out of 8 attempts in the first six minutes. Buffalo led 11- 10 going into the second quarter and maintained that lead at the break, 19- 18. The well went dry as Lott went to the bench in foul trouble and the Lady Bison struggled to score in the third quarter. Grissett’s free throw was the only point for Buffalo while Centerville chalked up eight to take the lead 27-20 after three. The Lady Tigers managed another ten in the fourth to Buffalo’s six to win 37- 26.
Lott finished with 11 points. Grissett, Lockett and Atkinson all scored 4, Lopez added 2 and Ellison tacked on a free throw.
