Kent McLean

Funeral services for Kent McLean, age 58, of Leona, were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Bro. Sam Manning and Terry Norman officiated and interment followed in the Evans Chapel Cemetery in Leona, Texas.

Kent McLean was born on May 10, 1951 in Liberty County, Texas to John William & Kathleen (Sizemore) McLean. He was raised in the Methodist Church but attended the Moss Hill Pentecostal Church in Liberty County. Kent worked in sales for CW Rod Tool Company, Inc. in Houston, Texas, which made cutting tools for oilfield companies. In June of 1984, he and his family moved to Leon County. Kent loved fishing, hunting, bar-b-queing and boating. Most recently, he had taken up restoring antique cars and enjoyed that, as well. Kent passed away January 26, 2010 in a Bryan, Texas hospital following a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his father, John William McLean.

Survivors include wife, Elaine McLean of Leona; mother, Kathleen McLean & step-father, Alton Adams of Normangee, Texas; daughters, Lauren & April McLean of Leona, Texas; brother, William David McLean of Normangee, Texas; sister, Kathy Cunningham of San Angelo, Texas and two grandchildren, Savannah Jones of Leona, Texas and Cash Barbin McLean of Dallas, Texas.
