New incentive for attendance at BHS School attendance is important -- not just for the student's sake, but also because the State determines funding based upon attendance. Spring is traditionally a time when attendance rates drop. Buffalo High School Assistant Principal Roy Longcrier shared that BISD is initiating an incentive program at the high school that may help. "Things get busy in spring -- kids get Spring Fever or Senior-itis and attendance typically wanes in the spring," Longcrier observed. During the period of January 25 - May 18th, BHS students who meet three criteria will enjoy an incentive trip to Six Flags on Thursday, May 20th, with their travel and ticket provided by the school. The criteria for the trip includes: * Perfect attendance during the program -- January 25 - May 18. * No major discipline problems (those requiring DAEP, ISS) * Three or fewer tardies. |
