OHS Lady Panthers claw the Lady Indians

Photo by Melissa Missildine The OHS Lady Panthers hosted the Douglas Lady Indians Friday night but it was not a pleasant social visit. These ladies were clearly out for blood...on both sides of the court. In the end, the Lady Panthers came out on top.

Douglas scored first in the first quarter. Christina Hudson put up the next two points on the board, the first for OHS. Douglas picked up two more. Hudson came back with two for the Lady Panthers. This volleyed action continued as the Lady Indians scored again. This time it was Felicia Williams who put two up on the board for Oakwood. Douglas scored again. Hudson put up two more. Felicia picked up a couple of foul shots leaving just a few seconds on the clock and the game tied at 10-10. Hudson swooped in to score right before the buzzer of the first quarter to make the score 12-10, Oakwood.

Photo by Melissa Missildine OHS scored first in the second quarter with three free throws and then a basket from Hudson. Then Felicia stole the ball from the Lady Indians and scored. Douglas finally got the ball down the court and scored twice and picked up a foul shot. Lisa Stevens put up the next two points. Felicia scored again. The Lady Indians picked up another free throw before Felicia put up another basket. The score was 26-22 at the half.

Douglas scored first in the third quarter. Felicia made the first basket of the quarter for the Lady Panthers. Then she put up a sweet three pointer. Douglas picked up two points. Stevens put up two points and then Nakeithia Crenshaw stepped up to make the next basket. Douglas picked up a couple more foul shots. Then Stevens picked up a couple of foul shots. Things were intense and the fouls were flying! The Lady Indians picked up another foul shot. The score was 39-32 at the end of the third quarter with the Lady Panthers in the lead.

Stevens started out the fourth quarter with a couple of foul shots. Douglas popped up their first, and only, three-pointer of the game. Felicia countered with an immediate two point shot. Douglas got another foul shot and then a basket. Steven picked up two more for Oakwood. Douglas picked up another free throw. Felicia picked up two more points. Hudson got in a couple of foul shots ending the game at 51 to 39...Lady Panthers take the win!
