Elmo Dean Laningham
Funeral services for Elmo Dean Laningham, age 71 of Buffalo, Texas were held 2 pm Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Johnny Veretto of the Buffalo Missionary Baptist Church officiated the service, and interment was in the Buffalo Cemetery. Walters Buffalo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Elmo was born on June 2, 1938 in Buffalo, Texas to John and Mae (Brown) Laningham, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Buffalo, and a member of the Buffalo Missionary Baptist Church. He was a devoted Christian and brother; he was a good big brother. He was close to his family. He taught his brothers and sisters how to ride bicycles, and he loved kids. He was a Dallas Cowboy fan; he was a good athlete, and he loved to run. He also enjoyed hunting. He had a photographic memory. Elmo passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 in a hospital in Tyler, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his two sisters, Carolyn Slaughter and Shirley Helm, both of Buffalo; his brothers, John Laningham, Jr. of Jewett, and Melvin Laningham, Sr. of Buffalo; nieces, Johnette Clark and Janie Gafford of Jewett, and Dana Tullos of Centerville; nephews, Sonny Taylor, Melvin Laningham, Jr., Michael Laningham, Matthew Laningham and Steven Helm, all of Buffalo; numerous great nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers were Sonny Taylor, Melvin Laningham, Jr., Michael Laningham, Matthew Laningham, Steven Helm, and Ty Douget.
