OHS Lady Panthers squash the Laneville Lady Jackets

Photo by Melissa Missildine The Lady Panthers have found their way out of the fog of defeat! OHS hosted the Laneville Lady Jackets on Tuesday. The Lady Jackets soon found out that they were not a match for the teamwork displayed by the Lady Panthers. In the first quarter, Oakwood put up 12 points to Laneville's 10. In the second quarter, OHS widened the gap, picking up another 13 points while the Lady Jackets only got 6. After the half, the Lady Panthers continued their hard work to put up 12 more points. Laneville got 7. The OHS ladies picked up 8 points in the last quarter, making Laneville's 2 points...pointless. The end score was 45-25. And the crowd goes wild!

Felicia Williams had a wild night. She put up an amazing 21 points in this game. Christina Hudson was on fire putting up 17 points. Nakeithia Crenshaw popped up a couple of really nice baskets to put 4 points on the board. Shametris Owens got a nice shot in too. Ashley Owens was able to pick up a point as well off a foul shot.

The Lady Panthers went down to Slocum to play on Friday night. The game was close from beginning to end. It was 11- 10 in the first quarter, going to OHS. Then Oakwood picked up 7 to Slocum's 8 in the second quarter. The tie was broken after the half with Slocum picking up 6 more to Oakwood's 5. The last quarter was a backand forth battle. In the end, The Lady Panthers put up 15 points to Slocum's 17. The end score of 38-41 left Slocum holding the win.

In this game, Felicia Williams put up a whopping 27 points. Hudson had 6 and Lisa Stevens added 5.

The Lady Panthers are 4-2, which makes them tied for second place in the district running with Kennard and Slocum.
