Lady Bison in the hunt at the Turn

With two wins last week, the Lady Bison remained in the playoff hunt. Buffalo finished the first half with a 5-2 record as did Groveton. Trinity cruised through the first seven games undefeated while New Waverly and Centerville reached the bend at 4-3. Buffalo wrapped up the first half with a 41-23 win over Anderson-Shiro and a 78-48 victory over Corrigan- Camden.
The Lady Bison struggled to get started Tuesday as Anderson-Shiro jumped ahead 14-9 after the first eight minutes. The second quarter was slow as well, but Buffalo closed to within one at the break 17-18. Aggressive defense in the third made the difference as the Lady Bison shut out Anderson-Shiro and scored twelve points to lead 29-18 after three. The Lady Bison matched their output in the fourth stanza while giving up only five points for the 4123 final.
Latisha Jackson and Kylan Ferguson reached double digits to lead all scorers with thirteen and ten points, respectively. Kaila Grissett and Karlee Ferguson each netted five points while Erica Jones totaled four. Kelsey Canady and Lauren Chambers added two points each.
Playing their most consistent game to date, the Lady Bison poured in twenty-one points in each of the first three stanzas and finished with fifteen to beat Corrigan- Camden 78-48.
Four Lady Bison reached double digits in the effort. Canady led the campaign with nineteen points. Ky Ferguson, Jackson and Grissett contributed fifteen, fourteen, and ten, respectively. Lindsey McGill squeezed out eight. Chambers tallied four while Reagan Read completed a three-point play. Jones and Karlee Ferguson each managed two, and Meredith Shaw added one.
