VARSITY CONTEST
The victory by the varsity men made it a Bison sweep at Anderson-Shiro on Tuesday night. Their 65-50 win in the Owl's gym came in a high-fouling game that saw the lead change hands several times before the Bison were able to pull away for good.
Led by seniors Jordan Canady and Micah Burnside- Jones, BHS jumped out to a 12-1 early lead before Anderson Shiro's youngsters found their rhythm and fought back to trail by only 5, 14-9, at the quarter. Several Bison were already in foul trouble and the Owl's run continued into the second stanza. With three minutes left in the half, the Owls took the lead on a steal and a bucket, 20-18. Burnside Jones quickly tied things back up, but the score was knotted several more times in the third quarter. Saxton Sims, Canady and their teammates cranked things up and the Bison began to pull away and led 45-33 going into the final period of play.
