Leon County 4-H joined with Madison County 4-H and hosted their Livestock Project Day on Saturday January 9, 2010. Livestock Project Day is an educational event for the youth and their parents. Each livestock species was split into separate groups and was taught about livestock selection, feed and nutrition, daily care and grooming, showmanship, and show day preparation. This was a great opportunity for families who are new to 4-H or returning members who would just like to get further educated. There were 148 youth and adults who attended this event even with the cold weather! Thank you to all sponsors who helped make this day a success! Also, a special thank you to our guest speakers; Randa Yesik, Christy Cockrell, Jana Richmond, Monte McGill, Dale Fritz, Jerry Paisley, Kevin Schelik, and Jacob brown.
