The Buffalo Lions Club has placed collection boxes to Recycle for Sight at the following locations: Citizen’s State Bank, Pruitt Cleaners, Brookshire Brother’s Pharmacy, Dr. Vicki Camp, Davis Feed, and Community National Bank. Texas Department of State Health Services is asking for VOLUNTEERS! Leon County is holding a Flu Vaccination Clinic on January 22 at the Buffalo Civic Center. The clinic will be held from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. There will be no charge for these vaccinations. Volunteers are needed to help! If you would be interested in helping please call the LEOC at 903-536- 3158.

Everyone is invited to the Leona Family Night, 6:00 P.M., Thursday, Jan. 28th, 2010. At the Leona Community Center, located on FM 977 just east of Hwy. 75. This will be our Mexican dinner night. So bring your favorite dish and join us for a good time. Entertainment will be by one of our regular entertainers Mike Stockman and Down Home Memories. Contact: 903-536-7708.

Thursday Night Dance - On Thursday evening, January 28, the Palestine Senior Center located at 200 N. Church Street in Palestine will host the monthly dance with “Texas Express”. The dance begins at 7 p.m. and DOORS ARE OPENED at 6:30 p.m. The admission is $6 and participants are asked to bring a snack or finger food to share. The Senior Center provides the coffee and tea for the evening. For more information call 903-729-0255.

The Buffalo High School classes of 1995-1998 are hosting a reunion on January 30, 2010 at the VFW located at 3800 Oak St., Palestine Tx. The reunion will start at 7 p.m. but there are groups meeting before at local restarants in Palestine. Please bring a finger food/snack type food. We are NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE IN ANY DRINKS, alcoholic or non, into the facility for our consumption. They have alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks for sale there. A DJ will be there to provide entertainment. There will be alcohol served so bring children at your own discretion. Donations will be accepted to help go towards the costs of the reunion. The first team captian meeting for this year’s Relay For Life of Leon County will be Tuesday, February 9th at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Buffalo Family Life Center. Anyone interested in having a team participate in Relay For Life of Leon County is encouraged to attend. This year’s Relay For Life of Leon County will be April 16-17 at Buffalo ISD’s Brewer Stadium.
