JV Lady Bison defeat Groveton

After losing to Centerville on Tuesday, the junior varsity Lady Bison returned to the hardwood on Friday to pick up a big win on Friday. The Lady Tigers won 34-24 over the Lady Bison before Buffalo beat Groveton 37-10.
Early foul trouble slowed the Lady Bison in Tiger Gym. Captain Raven Lott was whistled for three quick fouls in the first quarter and spent the rest of the half on the bench. Buffalo managed only four points the first quarter, but netted ten in the second to trail 14-18 at the half. The third quarter two to six in favor of the Lady Tigers. Buffalo struggled from the free throw line in the fourth quarter as Centerville pulled away for the 34-24 win.
Lott and Haley Ellison led the Lady Bison with six points apiece. Courtney Cunningham popped in five points. Samantha Atkinson totaled three points while Emily Grissett and Zelneisha Lockett each added a basket.
Madison Taylor poured in ten points to lead the Lady Tigers. Jordin Chase and Morgan Carrigan each added six points. Taelor Edgin and Kim Anderson managed four points each. Carlee McEAchern, Kara Harris and Amber Barker tacked on two each.
Friday night, Buffalo scored in double digits the first three quarters before coasting to a 37-10 victory over Groveton. The Lady Bison squeezed out thirteen points in the first quarter and held Groveton to two. Giving up one basket in the second quarter, Buffalo dropped another ten for a 23-4 halftime score. The Lady Bison played shut out defense in the third and upped the ante another ten for the 33-4 margin. The Lady Bison coasted through the fourth quarter for the 3710 final.
Lott led all scorers with thirteen points. Cunningham finished with eight. Grissett netted six points, and Haley Ellison provided four. Kylen Armstrong, Ana Lopez and Atkinson tossed in two each.
