Jared Rick Helmcamp
Visitation was held on Saturday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. Mr. Helmcamp passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Health Center in Bryan. He was born on July 6, 1988 in Fairfield to Rick and Mitzi Davis Helmcamp and grew up in Jewett, graduating from Leon High School in the Class of 2007. Jared enjoyed playing team sports and competing in U.I.L. academics and events throughout his high school years. He attended Texas A&M University and Blinn College and was currently working for the family business, A.L. Helmcamp, Inc., while resideing in College Station. Jared was an avid hunter, fisherman, domino player, and wonderful mentor and friend to all of his younger cousins, who loved him very much. He loved sharing his songs and playing guitar with his family and friends and will be remembered for his good and giving heart and how he made other people laugh. Jared was wonderful at telling stories and very proud of his family. Sharing his Christian Faith was very important to him. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone that knew him. Jared is survived by his loving parents, Rick & Mitzi Helmcamp; two sisters, Jennifer Henderson & husband Judd, and Jordan Thomas & husband Chad; nephews, Deacon, Parker, & Levi all of Jewett; maternal grandparents, Billy & Bobbie Davis of Buffalo; paternal grandparents, Allen & Elaine Helmcamp of Buffalo; his high school sweetheart, Rayna Thomas of College Station; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Serving as pallbearers were Nathan Watson, Justin Hammond, Clayton Watson, Jake Leissner, Matthew Schieffer, Mason Schieffer, Sam Grissett, Jeffery McGee, Andrew Borman, Brett Borman, Jackson Ward, and Jonathan Helmcamp.
