Lady Cougars improve season record to 11-4

The Cougars traveled to Neches on December 29th to tangle with a strong Neches Tigers team and came out on the short end of a 56-40 score. Coach Foley had several girls hurt but put up a good fight against Neches which now has a 20-1 record for the season. The Cougars trailed 18-10 after the 1st quarter and 29-21 at half time. The Cougars were outscored by 7 in the 3rd quarter and by 1 in the final quarter to lose 56-40. Jentry Clary had 11 points and Kori Charlton collected 12 boards to lead the Cougars.

The Cougars traveled to Caney Creek for a game on December 30th and bounced back with a 61-51 victory. The Cougars trailed 12-13 after the 1st quarter but had a 28-24 lead at half time. They increased the lead to 9 points after 3 quarters and won by 10 as the buzzer sounded. Monique Dorsey and Elissa Downey had 18 points each and Ashley Shuldham had 11 rebounds and Chrysti Grayson hauled in 10 to lead the Cougars.
