The Buffalo Bison continue to hone their game with an eye towards the upcoming district competition. During the Christmas break they travelled to Lovelady for tournament play on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. More ... After a seven-day layoff, the Lady Bison returned to the hardwood last Monday at the Rosebud-Lott Holiday Tournament. Although Buffalo struggled in the beginning minutes of each contest, the Lady Bison came on strong to win two of the three outings. Their only loss was a two-pointer at the hands of the host team in the semifinals. More ... The Buffalo Junior High boys basketball team schedule changes from the norm this week. Come out and show your support of Coach Dennis Hartley’s youngsters at their games on Thursday afternoon, January 7 when they host Trinity, with seventh grade action beginning at 4:00 and eighth to follow. More ... The Centerville Tigers competed in the Lovelady tournament and came away with a 61-30 win against class 4A Caney Creek Panthers on December 28th. The Tigers jumped to a 16-6 advantage after the 1st quarter and led 26-14 at half time. The Tigers outscored the Panthers by 9 in the 3rd quarter and by 10 in the last period to walk away with an easy 61-30 win. More ... The Centerville girls placed 2nd in the Iola tournament by defeating Anderson Shiro 60-25, Big Sandy 60-39, and Iola 82-27 to get to the finals against Mart but lost 60-52. On December 28th the Tigers defeated a district foe, Anderson-Shiro 60-25. Brittany Thomas scored 22 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 steals to pace the Tigers. More ... The Cougars traveled to Neches on December 29th to tangle with a strong Neches Tigers team and came out on the short end of a 56-40 score. Coach Foley had several girls hurt but put up a good fight against Neches which now has a 20-1 record for the season. The Cougars trailed 18-10 after the 1st quarter and 29-21 at half time.
