Nona Hester

Funeral services for Nona Hester, age 87 of Buffalo, Texas were held 2 pm Friday, January 1, 2010 at the Miracle Christian Center in Buffalo, Texas with Rev. Lloyd Lane officiating. Interment was in the Buffalo City Cemetery.

Mrs. Nona Hester was born January 10, 1922 in Nashville, Arkansas to George Washington and Vio- la Mae (Henderson) Tedford. She had lived in Buffalo since 1952, moving here from Dallas, Texas. She was a member of the Miracle Christian Center. She was a homemaker; she liked sewing, cooking, baking, and shopping. She was a “Grandma.” She and her husband were married sixty years before his death. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice Hester; son, Lonnie Hester; granddaughter, Vicki Hester; brother, James Tedford; two sisters, Hazel Long and Odell Cannon. Mrs. Nona passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in Buffalo, Texas.

Survivors include one son and daughter in-law; Lawrence and Judy Hester of Buffalo, Texas; three daughters and sons in-law; Sherry and Jerry Hanley of Buffalo, Texas, Nona and Bill Jones of Heath, Texas, and Janette and Archie Van Wey of Buffalo, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, Brenda Williams, Steve Hester, Kayla Hester, Myra Graves, Martha Thomas, Donna Daigle, Jill Davis, Leah Pruitt, De Anna Guidry, Craig Jones, Allen Van Wey, Marissa Dean and Angela Van Wey and fourteen great grandchildren.

The pallbearers were Steve Hester, Allen Van Wey, Craig Jones, Blake Harriman, Gene Pruitt, and Tony Daigle. The honorary pallbearers were Randy Williams, Don Davis, Scott Graves, Leith Dean, James Rendon, and Ethan Pate.

Walters Buffalo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
