Tuesday night’s game was not for the faint of heart. Players and fans needed mental and physical fortitude to survive the intensity of the Lady Bison’s win over New Waverly. The Lady Bulldogs entered the contest one game up on the Lady Bison and were considered the favorite according to preseason picks. More ... VARSITY ACTION On Friday evening at the BHS gym, the Buffalo Bison were clearly over the doldrums that plagued their last game in the Centerville tourney, as they thundered back on track with a solid win over Onalaska. More ... Friday night’s game was an experiment in defense, but the Lady Bison excelled with each form as they won 53-19 over Onalaska. With the win, Buffalo sits in second place in 21AA. The junior varsity cruised to a 48-9 victory to go 3-0 in district play. More ... The junior high Lady Bison continued their stroll through the district when Groveton came to town last Monday night. Both junior high teams earned lopsided victories over the Lady Indians. The seventh grade won 33-7 while the eighth grade won 31-9. More ... The Lady Cougars got off to a good start as they hosted a tall and talented team from Crockett on December 15th and came away with a 55-48 victory. Crockett had definite height advantage and was more physical but the Lady Cougars had speed and quickness on their side. LHS repeatedly scored on fast breaks and their quick hands resulted in many steals throughout the game. More ... The Centerville Tigers defeated Lovelady on December 15th but lost their district opener to New Waverly on December 18 to close out their week with a season record of 12-3. More ... Oh, what a relief it is! The Oakwood Lady Panthers have got their game back. The OHS girls varsity basketball team went up against the Kennard Lady Tigers last Tuesday night. The OHS girls had to work hard for every point, but in the end they took the game with 32-25. More ... The Oakwood Boys Varsity Basketball team hosted the Apple Springs Eagles last Tuesday with devastating results. In the first quarter, Oakwood scored 3 points to Apple Springs' 10. Not a good way to start things off. The Panthers rallied in the second quarter to put up 10 points to the Eagles 9. After the half, the Eagles pulled ahead with 16 more points. Oakwood only picked up 2. More ... Go girl power! The Oakwood Lady Panthers have done it again. The girls traveled to Douglass Friday and showed them who was boss. The game was tight but in the end OHS pulled it out in 51 - 48 battle. More ... |
