Emma Pauline “Polly” Gore

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Pauline “Polly” Gore, age 87, of Buffalo were held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2 PM in the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville. Burial followed in the Stevens Cemetery near Buffalo. Rev. Dean Easterling, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Centerville, officiated.

Pauline Gore was born in Leon County near Buffalo on February 21, 1922 to Roy and Eva (Beshears) Waters. She and Ray Gore were married on June 25, 1938. They lived much of their life together in Houston, but, in 1984 moved back to Leon County near the place they were born and grew up. Mrs. Gore was a homemaker and active in her community and church. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Buffalo. She gardened and canned. She also hunted and fished. Her husband would introduce her as “This is my honey”. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Daniel Ray Gore; a sister, Doris Jean Waters and by two brothers, Leroy Waters and Cecil Waters. Mrs. Gore passed away at her home on December 14, 2009.

Surviving family members include her husband of almost 72 years, Ray Gore of Buffalo; a son, Richard Donald “Don” Gore of Buffalo; a brother, Bill Waters of Nebraska; grandchildren Danielle, Matt, Joseph, Aaron, Shannon, Christine and Lorrie and numerous great grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of the Walters Funeral Home.
