Oakwood Holds City Council Meetings

By Melissa Missildine

In a pair of City Council Meetings, Oakwood has hired a new part-time police officer, Skip Young and a new City Secretary, Shannon Nicholson. Stacy Salguero will stay on in her current position as Court Clerk but will hand over the reigns to Nicholson once she has trained her to take over as the City Secretary. Salguero just recently had a baby, thus the office staffing changes. These changes will allow for more flexibility for Salguero's new mom status and ensure that her recent training to become the Court Clerk is not wasted. It will mean that the city will not have to send someone else off for the week long training either. The Council feels that this compromise benefits everyone involved.
