Buffalo Police Report

Lance Pavelka

Officer Mouton to FM 1848 for agency assist with loose livestock. Officer received request regarding a cow out on FM 1848 just outside of city limits. Officer checked location but did not locate the cow. Call cleared.

Officer Haynie to IH 45 for possession of stolen gift card. Officer received call to be on lookout for vehicle with suspects who had tried to pay for fuel with a possible stolen gift card in Fairfield. Officer located vehicle on IH 45 and stopped it. Officer contacted original agency to obtain additional info. After further investigation, it was determined that the card was not stolen but inactive. Suspects had paid for fuel with cash. Suspects had no outstanding warrants and were released.

Officer Hutchison to Commerce Street for business alarm. Upon arrival, officer checked establishment and found secure. Officer and business owner reviewed video but found no evidence that someone attempted to gain entry. Cleared as info.

Officer Hutchison to Commerce Street for loose livestock. Upon arrival, officer spoke with employee from the sale barn who stated he had a single cow loose. Cow was located. Cleared.

Officer Hutchison & Sgt Ferrand to Buffalo Avenue for loud noise. Officers received call regarding an unknown person yelling outside of a residence. Reportee was worried regarding welfare of residents. Upon arrival, officers spoke with suspect who lived at residence. After further investigation, it was determined that subject was just intoxicated and yelling outside of residence. No assault had occurred. Cleared as info.

While patrolling IH 45, a vehicle was stopped by Sgt Ferrand for speeding. Driver didn’t have proper identification and appeared nervous. After officer received permission to search vehicle, Officer Hutchison was called in to assist. A large some of cash was found and Officer Hutchison recovered a stolen handgun hidden in the bed of vehicle. Suspect was taken into custody and transported to LCSO for Theft of Firearm. Remains under investigation.

Sgt Ferrand to Commerce Street for disturbance. Officer was dispatched to local fuel stop in reference to Unauthorized Use of Vehicle. Upon arrival, officer met with victim regarding intoxicated male having taken their vehicle, leaving her behind in the parking lot. Officer observed victim had a swollen eye and upon further investigation, victim confirmed she had been assaulted while in the vehicle traveling from Limestone County. Officer contacted a Limestone County Deputy regarding what county the assault had actually occurred in. LCSO Deputy arrived on scene and determined through interview that the assault occurred in Limestone County. Deputy transported victim to meet with Limestone County Deputy.

Officer Mouton to Oakwood for agency assist regarding a business alarm. Officer responded to request by LCSO dispatch to business alarm at grocery store in Oakwood. Officer and key holder checked interior of building finding no signs of break in. Call cleared.

Officer Mouton to IH 45 for agency assist regarding a stranded motorist. Officer located vehicle and spoke with driver who was in need of a wrecker. Officer requested that dispatch send wrecker service to his location. Call cleared.

Officer Mouton to Main Street for agency assist with EMS call. Officer assisted EMS to locate residence where victim was having chest pains. Call cleared.

Officer Haynie & Chief Pavelka to Bess Street for disturbance. Officers met with Reportee who claimed neighbor had cursed at her children. Officers met with neighbor who denied it and claimed Reportee’s children were making rude comments about her children. Parties involved agreed to stay away from each other until differences could be worked out. No other police action taken.
