Speeding stop yields cash and guns

On 12/13/2009 at approximately 16:15, Buffalo Police Sgt Ferrand stopped a white Chevrolet pickup for speeding. The driver, a hispanic male from Dallas, Texas, did not have proper identification and appeared to be nervous. The driver granted Sgt Ferrand consent to search his vehicle. Officer Hutchison was called to assist with the search. Officers found over $9000 in cash and recovered a stolen handgun out of Rowlett, Texas, that had been hidden in the bed of the vehicle. The vehicle and cash were seized and subject was taken into custody for Theft of Firearm. The case remains under investigation.
