Leon County jury hands down death sentence

Last week the sevenwomen, five-man Leon County jury -- which included several Buffalo residents -- completed their deliberations in the sentencing phase of the capital murder trial of Jerry Duane Martin. They sentenced Martin to death for running over a mounted Huntsville prison guard, Susan Canfield, during an armed escape attempt.

The official sentencing will take place in Walker County on December 17th.
