Oh you better watch out, you better not pout
Bailey Johnson was not shy when telling Santa exactly what she wanted on Christmas morning. Sherry’s Shots
The city of Centerville was aglow with the sights and sounds of Christmas on Friday afternoon. At the center of the festivities was the beautiful old Leon County Courthouse Square all decked out and waiting for the Christmas Parade to begin. As early as 3:30 floats were lined up in the parking lot of Centerville High School putting the last touches on the floats
To start the celebration was an Open House at The First Methodist Church where those looking for the Christmas Spirit could easily find it.
The counter top was burdened with a heavy load of candies, cookies and all sorts of sugar plums, while the percolators kept hot cider ready for the serving. Around the room tables were beautifully decorated in blue and silver and items for the “silent auction” were displayed.
Mary Sue Watson was nestled in her corner quietly reading to boys and girls who were extremely attentive. As she read she displayed the pictures in the book and the children clung to every word. No TV or video games were needed here.
And at the center of all the attention was, who else, Santa Claus. Mama’s and Daddy’s stood around with smiles and cameras as their precious little ones posed for a picture with the big man in red. Some wailed but most were only too happy to get to tell the jolly ole elf just what would make them happy on Christmas morning.
