The Bison men travelled to Kennard for pick-up games on Tuesday, since the scheduled opponent, Cayuga, was still in the State football playoffs. The Junior Varsity came away with a 38-25 victory, but the Varsity men had a frustrating night. VARSITY VS KENNARD More ... The roller coaster ride dubbed the 2009 season continued last week as the Lady Bison saw both ends of the spectrum. Buffalo dropped a close non-district game to Franklin on Tuesday before entering the Frankston Tournament on Thursday. The Lady Bison scored one win and two losses for a fourth place finish. More ... The two junior high Lady Bison basketball teams cruised through Corrigan- Camden last Monday night. The seventh grade won 29- 17, and the eighth grade won 28-7. More ... The Buffalo Junior High boys teams split with Corrigan- Camden at the BJHS gym on Monday, November 30. Buffalo's eighth graders doubled up on the Bulldogs with an intimidating show of ball-handling and team work. The seventh grade boys fell to the youngest Bulldogs in a high-scoring contest. EIGHTH More ... Last week, the Centerville Tigers defeated Hempstead, Clifton, Bremond and lost to Dawson to improve their season record to 6-2. On December 1st the Tigers traveled to Hempstead and came away with a 55- 50 win. The Tigers were led by Michael Gwosdz with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Jonathan Cloud tossed in 14 points and collected 15 rebounds. More ... The Lady Cougars had a good week as they defeated Little River Academy, Kerens, and Buffalo, but lost to LaPoynor. More ... The Junior Varsity Lady Bison earned valuable experience last week with four contests in five days. Buffalo defeated Franklin in non-district action on Tuesday before competing in pool play in the Centerville Tournament on Thursday. Bracket play commenced on Saturday. In the five outings, the Lady Bison fell short in only the championship contest, losing to Centerville’s junior varsity. More ... Oakwood’s football team was honored in this year's 14-A Six Man All District line up. Newcomer of the Year went to a junior who is a newcomer this year to Oakwood, # 1, James (Junior) Edwards. One of only two Tight Ends who made the cut was from OISD too. Senior, #86, Kealyne Durham. Durham was also one of the two Safeties on the list. More ... The Boys: Ouch! Losing three in a row must be painful for the Oakwood Varsity Boys Basketball team. More ... Oakwood's little Lady Panthers have done it again! This time, the OJH girls went up against the Murchison Lady Eagles with the home court advantage. It paid off... BIG. The end score? 29-20 to Oakwood.
