Letters to the Editor Letter to the Editor,Last Saturday, my son and I volunteered as “Bell Ringers” for the Salvation Army outside Brookshire Brothers in Buffalo. We saw many, many angels. One in particular who works for Brookshire Brothers, an angel named, Michael. We saw that each time he helped a customer with their groceries, he would put his tips into the Kettle a dollar each time. I hope he won’t mind if we mention his name, for he is a special young man, Michael Johnson. We have a lot of good souls in the Buffalo area who believe in sharing. As veterans ourselves, we had many veterans who donated and told stories of the Salvation Army and what it meant in their lives and service. There was a Purple Heart recipient, and many with their stories and concerns for their loved ones currently serving. One young man proudly told us of his brother in the Navy, chosen to serve as a crew member on the USS New York, our newest warship with its, bow reinforced with steel from the World Trade Center, of the September 11 attack (911). Many thanks again to all the volunteers, Brookshire Brothers, and all you many angels out there. (For your information, all donations from the kettle stays in the Buffalo, Leon County area to help those in need.) MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! A Volunteer Howard Myers |
