The City of Oakwood will be holding its 2nd annual Christmas on the Corner this Saturday, December 12, 2009 on the Oakwood State Bank corner. It will be from 2:00PM until dusk. The community is welcome to come join in the festivities and meet Santa. There will be lots of free games for the children and “door” prizes for adults and children throughout the day.

Come one, come all! Anyone wishing to join in Oakwood’s 2nd Annual Christmas on the Corner Celebration through the singing of traditional Christmas carols, may just show up next Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 2:00PM right on the Oakwood State Bank corner. Everyone is welcome. No experience necessary. No practice needed. Come with the spirit of song in your soul and a smile on your face. Stay as long as you like. Centerville Elementary Christmas Program - On Monday, December 14th, at 6 pm, the Centerville Elementary School will be having its annual Christmas Program and Christmas Basket Auction in the Fine Arts Building. Students in Pre-K through third grades will be entertaining the audience with an exciting rendition of Christmas at the O.K. Corral. The program will begin after the silent auction is closed on the PTO Christmas baskets. Please be sure to come and support the students and PTO.

On December 17th Fort Hood will be hosting a Christmas Party. They would appreciate any toy or cash donations for Santa Clause to hand out to the children. Leona Family Night will be at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2009. This will be our Christmas meeting. Bring your favorite Christmas dish and a gift to exchange. Men bring a men’s gift, ladies a ladies’ gift. If you bring a child bring a gift for him/her also. And yes Santa will be there. Contact: 903-344-3633.
