Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Bates, age 88, were held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church. Interment followed the service at Sardis Cemetery. Rev. Billy Bob Evans officiated. Mrs. Bates was born October 22, 1921 in Jewett and passed away November 26, 2009 at Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck.   More...
The City of Oakwood will be holding its 2nd annual Christmas on the Corner this Saturday, December 12, 2009 on the Oakwood State Bank corner. It will be from 2:00PM until dusk.
