OJHS Panthers get the jump on the Jaguars

The Oakwood Junior High basketball team started this season off with a win. They played the Hubbard Jaguars at home on Tuesday night.
The first quarter score was 12-2 in Oakwood's favor. Jacquez Forte got things started with the first basket of the night. Damine Durham came up with the next two. Forte got another basket. Then Dominic Johnson put up the next basket. William Barnett got the only basket in the next quarter. The second quarter score was 14-10 with the Jaguars trying to catch up. Barnett got the first basket in the third quarter. Tyler Scoggin put up the last basket of the quarter to tie up the game at 18-18. In the fourth quarter, Myua Abrams got the first basket. Durham, Abrams, Scoggin, and Forte went on to score more baskets for OJH bringing the score to 35- 20 and OJH its first victory.

The Junior High boys played hard and played well as a team. With a little more practice at self control, these boys are looking good for a chance at a winning season. Their next game is at home against Murchison on November 30 right after the Junior High Lady Panthers play.
