The Oakwood High School Lady Panthers traveled to Lovelady over the holidays for their first basketball tournament. OHS lost to Cayuga 35-51 in the first game. They lost again to Royal 28-38 in the second game. The Lady Panthers came back with a win against North Zulch with a score of 41-34 but lost again in the final game against Saltilo 42-52. On the back of last week's loss to the Frankston Maidens, this season is turning out to be a real bummer for the Lady Panthers. Maybe they can turn things around at tonight's away game against Kerens.
Felicia Williams had a good night, despite the losses. She had a total of 38 rebounds, 5 blocks, 21 steals, 13 assists, and 80 points for the two day tournament. Christina Hudson did well too. She had 40 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assists, and 32 points. Lisa Stevens had 14 rebounds, 13 steals, 6 assists, and 30 points. Jocelyn Williams had a couple of rebounds and assists and a basket too. Ashley Owens had 2 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, and 2 points. Tory Duck had an assist and a rebound while Melanie Minter had a couple of rebounds. Nakethia Crenshaw had 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Shametris Owens had 3 rebounds and Holly Davis had a steal.
