Junior High Boys start roundball

EIGHTH GRADE
VS CENTERVILLE
Buffalo Junior High eighth grade boys started their 2009 season with a decisive win over the Centerville Tigers on November 16. BJHS added double digits in each quarter and played intimidating defense on their way to a 51-10 final score.
The Bison were led by Logan Jones who poured in 18 points. Tyler Adams knocked down 10, Bobby Dorman 6, Trent Martin 4. John Allen, Kyle Read, and Ty Bryson scored 3 each and Jacob Davis and Jacob DeBorde each contributed 2, and the Bison were 2 of 3 at the charity line.
VS ANDERSON-SHIRO
In their second outing the Bison faced Anderson Shiro on the road,, and once again the youngsters in purple and gold came away with a lop-sided win, 43-15. Jones and Adams again led all scorers with 13 and 10, respectively. Dorman added 6, Martin 5, Davis 4, DeBorde and Read 2 each and David Espino tacked on a free throw.

SEVENTH GRADE
VS CENTERVILLE
The Bison seventh graders found the going to be a little tough in their season opener at Centerville. They trailed the Tigers 14-6 after one quarter, then played the CJHS team almost bucket-for-bucket in the next two periods. The score was 28- 18 at the half, and 36-28 after three. Centerville pulled away in the final period to win 53-37.
Buffalo’s Dylan St. Pe’ led all scorers with 18 points. Also scoring for the Bison were Layne Shelton with 10 and Paul Mata with 9.
Scoring for Centerville was led by C. Carrigan with 12, followed closely by K. Harris and T. Pickens with 10 each. H. Nash and C. Wakefield added 6 each, C. Wellman and C. Harris 4 apiece, and T. Harris contributed 3.
VS ANDERSON-SHIRO
The youngest Bison got their first win the next week against Anderson-Shiro. BJHS dominated the Owls with a 22-0 first quarter, and held their opponent scoreless in the third quarter as well. The final score was 56-12, Buffalo.
St. Pe’ again led his team, scoring 22 points in two quarters of play. Mata contributed 11, Shelton added 8, Dontae Willis scored 7 and Jeron Quios had 6.
The Bison were scheduled to host Corrigan Camden on December 1.
