Lady Bison battle state-ranked Westwood
      Buffalo's Lady Bison battled Westwood's Lady Panthers in a Monday contest before the Thanksgiving break. The Top Twenty-Five ranked Lady Panthers used an aggressive approach to stay just ahead of the Lady Bison from start to finish. Buffalo dropped a close decision, 47-52. Westwood won their previous encounter, 55-45. The junior varsity Lady Bison won 23-21.

Bison fall to Hearne in home opener
      The Buffalo Bison hosted the Hearne Eagles in the home opener on Tuesday evening. While the Buffalo boys were definitely more “on their game” than in their first outing of the new season, both the JV and Varsity teams were still unable to secure the victory that they were looking for.

      EIGHTH GRADE VS CENTERVILLE Buffalo Junior High eighth grade boys started their 2009 season with a decisive win over the Centerville Tigers on November 16. BJHS added double digits in each quarter and played intimidating defense on their way to a 51-10 final score.

      The junior high Lady Bison stymied the Anderson Shiro Owls last Monday night, scoring lopsided victories on three levels. The seventh grade B team, seventh grade A team and the eighth grade A team combined for 123 points throughout the course of the evening and gave up a meager 23.

Lady Panthers have the tournament blues

      The Oakwood High School Lady Panthers traveled to Lovelady over the holidays for their first basketball tournament. OHS lost to Cayuga 35-51 in the first game. They lost again to Royal 28-38 in the second game. The Lady Panthers came back with a win against North Zulch with a score of 41-34 but lost again in the final game against Saltilo 42-52.

      The Tigers won their season opener against Normangee 45-32 in Normangee on November 17th. Michael Gwosdz led in points scored with 10, and Clay Hardee and Jonathan Cloud chipped in with 8 each. Gwosdz, Hardee, and Jamal High had 9 rebounds each. Gwosdz led the way in assists with 5.

Centerville Lady Tigers dominate Elkhart, 52-12

      The Lady Tigers defeated the Elkhart Elks 52-12 in Centerville on November 23rd. The Tigers have an up tempo offense and handle the ball very well. Several of the players finished volleyball and are now honing their basketball skills. The Tigers jumped to a 22-3 lead after the first quarter and led 39-6 at the half.
